Mouth and Teeth

Missing Teeth

Retained Deciduous Teeth Retained "baby" teeth can cause permanent damage to the mouth and jaw. Teeth should be monitored every other day from 12 to 24 weeks of age when permanent teeth should be coming in. AKC rules indicate that orthodontic procedures should not be performed on show dogs, but removing "baby" teeth is permissible.
