Blast from the PastThe following items have been sent to us from our friends "down-under" which they were able to dig up from the archives of their library in "The Stock-Keeper and Fanciers Chronicle," a weekly Journal about Dogs, Poultry, Pigeons, Rabbits, Cage Birds & Pet Stock. August 16, 1895Valuable stock for immediate disposal - Grand fawn mastiff dog, registered, 20 months old, by Iron Duke ex lady Dudley (bred by Captain Piddocke, London); this young dog possesses a massive, short, blunt, wrinkled black face, good mount, drop ears, and I straight and healthy. Stands over 30 in, and weighs 11 stone, good stud dog, one fault bars him the show bench, otherwise worth 50 pounds; also silver-fawn brood bitch, registered as Clapham Niobe, by Exeter Boanerges ex Exeter Lucretia (bred by Hutchins, Exeter), cost big money when a puppy, guaranteed breeder and mother; also 10-week stock from above; specially find dog, possessing handsome short wrinkled black face, perfect ears, limbs, and condition, a future winner; grand bitch ditto; also heavy-boned dog, rather faulty ears; low prices accepted; offers considered -- full particulars, J.
