Book Review: Natural Healing for Dogs & Cats by Diane Stein
Presents chapters on Nutrition, Vitamins & Minerals, Herbal Healing, Homeopathy, Psychic
Healing & Communication, Acupuncture/Acupressure, Massage & TTouch, Flower Essences
and Muscle Testing. Her book references works by the major authors in holistic healing and
nutrition, such as: Dr. Pitcarin, Juliette de Bairacli Levy, Dr. Belfield, Linda Tellington-Jones,
George Macleod, Pat Lazarus and more. Since sections of these works are presented verbatim,
this would be a good general reference to use if you did not wish to purchase all the individual
books.
Her other books on human healing are written to, for and about women and there are
references to that effect in this work as well. Gives an excellent overview of all the "alternate"
possibilities for healing and health for dogs and cats.
One minor thing I noticed was that although she presents natural food regimes based
on works by Pitcarin and Lazarus, she made a statement that "too much raw meat can cause
an increase in aggressiveness, so it should not be a large part of the diet." She does not
explain this, nor does she indicate a source for the statement. Yet, Pitcarin and Lazarus both
advocate feeding raw meat and indicate no reservations as to its causing aggressiveness.
