Disqualified from showing due to cruciate ligament repair surgery - needed one
major to finish.
MASK : exceptionally black mask, very black ears.
EYES : very dark, almond shaped eyes that are set wide apart.
TOPLINE: level - croup too steep for my taste - excellent tail set.
FEET : not splayed but middle toes roll over (very ugly)
FRONT : wide, exceptional brisket, legs set squarely under shoulders
(no elbowing out)
PASTERN: weak
HEAD : very correct, broad top skull, ears properly set, distinctive stop,
broad and deep muzzle with very pleasing expression.
HOCKS : little long in hock - parallel.
Has produced 3 litters (1 outcross). Very large with heavy bone. Wonderful
temperaments and basically correct. Unfortunately, some have his ugly feet, and a
couple have cow hocks. Three being shown - two doing very well. Still very young.
Health: has bloated on two occasions (both times stressed because of bitches in
heat). Injured his knees - cruciate (anterior) ligament ruptured at 12 1/2 months, the
second one three months later. As you probably remember - all this is well documented.
Elbows - hair absent but no unsightly calluses (I believe this is genetic).
To me his greatest asset is his temperament. He's a powerfully built dog but does
not move with great power. His height is in the body rather than length of leg.
